Beautiful Beach, White Sand And Turquoise Waters

Matemwe Beach is one of the beaches I have been, I\'ve loved the most! Large, long, miles and miles to walk, full of shells and small conchs. The sand is white talcum powder, the sea is very calm and you can choose, depending on the tides, to walk to the reef or swim in the warm waters. Sometimes there are some vendors, selling nice things that you have to bargain. But they are very friendly and don\'t bother you at all. A \"no\" means \"no\". You have hammocks to lay down or you can soak up the sun, the world is all yours. Wonderful place, to stay for many, many days!

It Rich With Zanzibar\'s History

This is full of the slavery history that was happening in Zanzibar and the rest of Africa. The church was built as a reminder and healing of the people

Beautiful Church

The church is beautiful given the history of slavery in Zanzibar. It also speaks to the words of David Livingstone as plaques on the wall. Even though it is simple designed and decorated, the history and what it stands for isn\'t simple.

Important Piece Of Zanzibari History

The Anglican Christ Church Cathedral is not exactly an architectural marvel, but it is a very important piece of Zanzibar\'s history that one should visit. The church is built on the site of the former slave market in Zanzibar. An interesting, if not comical, the thing I learned is that the pillars at the back of the church were installed upside-down by clueless masons. Even for the irreligious, it is a place for sober reflection on an ugly chapter in human history.

Prison Island, Highly Recommend!

We did the half-day Prison Island tour. Our guides were prompt, friendly, and answered any questions we had. We skipped the snorkeling as we\'d just come from a resort in Kendwa, and the tour took about 2.5-3 hours. I\'d highly recommend Exploring Tourism Zanzibar

Tortoise Sanctuary

Said was the best tour guide. Friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her! he knew everything about the island and tortoises

Brilliant Tour With Exploring Tourism Zanzibar

Our tour guide picked us up from our hostel, gave us time to grab a quick breakfast and then took us to the boat. Gave us a great tour around the giant tortoises and the prison, having studied ecology she clearly had a lot of knowledge. We then went for a snorkel on a nearby coral reef that was amazing, so much marine life. He even surprised us with some cassava chips and flavored baobab seeds.

Fabulous Time In Zanzibar

We stayed two nights. Joined a walking tour on our second day which was fabulous. So much history to see. Would have loved to have had more time to explore the area more n do some shopping.

Interesting Place, With History And Charm - 3 Hours Is Enough

We took a tour arranged by Exploring Tourism Zanzibar. Our guide was Talib. He was very focused on two particular periods in the history of Zanzibar (the Omani period and the \"revolution\"), so we got a lot of depth on those two, but much less on anything else. The slave trade was well covered because we spent a significant block of time in a museum focused on that - the museum was very well done. We enjoyed walking around the town, seeing the market, the Sultan\'s Palace and the narrow streets and learning a little about history, architecture and culture.

Good Transfer Service

We used Exploring Tourism Zanzibar during our visit to Zanzibar this month. When we arrived at the airport, the driver was there to greet us and take us to the car, where we met the driver who would take us to our hotel. The driver was very friendly and professional, as was the driver. The car was clean and comfortable, and the ride was smooth. At the end of our visit, the driver contacted us in advance to reconfirm the pickup time, and once again the driver was there waiting for us. The driver met us at the airport to say goodbye and check that all was ok with our check-in. We would recommend this Company if you need transportation as well as any tours.
