Start your thrilling journey with us in beautiful Nungwi. After a quick orientation of the buggy, your guide reveals a secret smuggler’s path to a pristine fishing beach. Feel the wind in your face, the sun on your shoulders, and the sand rushing under your buggy as you zip through the stunning Zanzibar landscape. Our buggies pack plenty of punch and add a shot of adrenaline to your day, regardless of your experience level. Your guide customizes your expedition, making sure you feel safe and comfortable at all times. The adventure whizzes through lush farming and plantation area, under swaying palm trees, and over winding off-road trails, giving you plenty of time to practice your off-road driving skills under the instruction of your knowledgeable guide. You finish at a local village, where you chat with locals and watch fishermen repairing their traditional dhow boats, before returning to Nungwi.
The price for the half day trip is $350 per buggy (that fits two people, driver, and passenger)

We have two daily trips: 9 am and 2 pm. For each trip, we meet 30 min before for paperwork and safety briefing
We ask our guests to bring with them their driving license, passport number, and credit card for deposit. We also advise wearing for our trip clothes they don't mind getting dirty in.
The safety of our clients is a priority. We go above and beyond to ensure that your time with us is a secure and relaxing highlight of your visit to the island.
We offer free transfers from hotels around Nungwi and Kendwa. The roads around the villages here are very bad so sometimes it will be nicer and shorter for you to walk on the beach. If you are staying further away from the island we will be happy to arrange a taxi to pick up at an additional cost.
Wear something you don’t mind getting wet and/or dirty. It is a very good idea to bring an extra set of clothing. We would advise you to wear a swimming costume under your clothes so after the trip you could just take a swim in the ocean. All kind of footwear is welcome as long as you feel comfortable driving with them.
Contrary to common belief, off-road driving in Zanzibar is in fact illegal. We are very concerned about our delicate nature and would love it if you follow the lead and instructions of your guide, and stayed on the path at all times.
To drive the buggy, you must hold a full valid driving license, or motorcycle license, and be at least 17 years old. Practice- and preliminary licenses do not suffice. Passenger age limit is 6 years.
The buggies are strong for their size, but like all cars, they have a maximum bearing weight. Maximum weight per passenger/driver: 120 kg or 264 lbs Maximum combined weight; 220 kg or 485 lbs
We don’t really have a size limit, other than the weight limit above. But the buggies are small, so people over 190 cm / 6 ft may have a problem fitting into the buggies. People under 145 cm / 4 ft 11 in may have a problem seeing over the windshield and might not be able to drive.
