TRIP OVERVIEW

STONE TOWN – CITY TOUR & SHOPPING – (3 HOURS)
This is the three hours walking tour of the historical city of Stone Town – for those staying at the beach resort one to one and a half hours of driving will be involved. The visit starts from Zanzibar‟s colourful market. Alive with the buzz of locals bartering fresh vegetables and baskets of tropical fruit. ) We continue on to the site of the cathedral built in 1874.
The cathedral signifies a potent time in Zanzibar's history and stands on the sight of a past slave market, From here we visit the residence of the late Sultans of Zanzibar, "Tip Tip House‟, the Old Fort, "Peoples Palace‟ and "the House of Wonders‟, full of intrigue and vivid history from a bygone era. We will use the opportunity of wandering within the bazaars and the possibility of shopping around.
SPICE TOUR (3 HOURS)
Three hours tour through the spice farm plantation. This involves visiting the spices growing areas to see different spices and learn their nature, uses and taste some of them right on the spot depending on the season where some are used for medicinal, cosmetics, ornamental plants and herbs. Cloves, nutmeg, rambutan, lipstick, iodine plant, lemongrass, vanilla, henna, shampoo plant etc.

PRISON ISLAND BOAT TRIP (3 HOURS)
Three hours a tour that involves 20 minutes dhow crossing from Stone Town to the island. Prison Island's original use was as a prison and later it was taken over to be used as a quarantine station by the British Army. It has some excellent coral formations just offshore providing a good opportunity for snorkelling.
Another main attraction is the giant tortoises which are over 100 years old. These tortoises are only found on this island. Not indigenous to continental Africa, the original tortoises were brought from Aldabra in Seychelles in an effort to extend the tortoise conservation efforts. The adult tortoises of Prison Island are already producing the next generations, and the future is looking good for the continued survival of this ancient reptile.

Meet and greet at Zanzibar Airport and transfer to hotel in Stone Town of Zanzibar Island for overnight.

You will be collected from your hotel at 09h00 for Prison Island Boat Trip and Stone Town City
Tour. After the tours, we will drop you off at your hotel overnight.
